Families are permanently housed and work towards improving their economic mobility, thereby reducing their chances of returning to homelessness.

Rapid Rehousing (RRH) is a permanent housing program designed to assist families with quickly exiting homelessness, return to housing in the community of their choosing, and develop skills to potentially reduce the chance of returning to homelessness. Families referred by the Office of Homeless Services receive assistance locating, applying for, and securing housing units. Families are then provided with a temporary subsidy for up to 12 months, allowing an opportunity to address barriers increasing the chance to independently assume a market rate rent or to secure another more permanent subsidized housing option at the end of the subsidy term. With the support of a Rapid Re-Housing Stabilization Coach, families will set goals to obtain increased wages, increase overall family stability and address barriers specifically around housing security. Barriers include things such as debts, past evictions, mental or physical health, childcare concerns and lack of support. The stabilization coach will guide the family as they navigate the Philadelphia housing market while lending emotional support to the whole family as they work to improve their situation. Applying the tools of coaching will help families identify obstacles and outline a clear plan to overcome them.

The goal: to support families while removing barriers to continued housing stability.
